【Exhibition Report】Participating in BOSAI Kokutai 2025 in Niigata — Real Connections Spark the Next Step Forward

On September 7th and 8th, 2025, SAKIGAKE JAPAN participated in BOSAI Kokutai 2025 (National Conference for Promoting Disaster Risk Reduction), held in Niigata Prefecture.

Hosted by Japan’s Cabinet Office, BOSAI Kokutai is the country’s largest disaster risk reduction (DRR) event. This year, it welcomed approximately 10,000 attendees from across the country, creating a valuable space for people from diverse backgrounds to meet, discuss, and collaborate on disaster preparedness.

A Constant Stream of Visitors—The Power of In-Person Conversations

Thanks to our booth’s excellent location next to the Digital Agency’s, SAKIGAKE JAPAN enjoyed a steady stream of visitors from the very start to the closing moments of the event.
Our team barely had time to rest as we spoke with countless attendees, but these two days offered a strong reminder of the unique value of face-to-face dialogue—something we can never fully replicate online.

One of the most memorable aspects was finally meeting, in person, several individuals with whom we had previously only interacted online. Being able to exchange ideas, discuss background contexts, and share real-world challenges added depth to our relationships and laid the groundwork for future collaboration.

Spotlighted Solutions: “Traveling Refrigerator” and “KORIN” Photoluminescent Material

Among the various phase-free DRR solutions we showcased, two items in particular drew significant attention:

  • Traveling Refrigerator (MOBILE COLD STORAGE BOX / Off-Grid Model)
This portable refrigeration unit functions without external power, making it ideal for disaster situations as well as regional events, mobile shops, and remote areas such as islands or mountainous regions. Visitors were intrigued by its versatility and practical value.
  • “KORIN” Photoluminescent Safety Material
This glow-in-the-dark material remains visible even during power outages and attracted strong interest from local governments and social welfare organizations. We received a high volume of inquiries, especially in the context of evacuation center design and facility safety upgrades.

Letting attendees touch and examine the actual equipment allowed them to directly experience both the concept and usability of our products. Many expressed interest in testing them in their own communities.

Learning from the Field—Together as a Team

In addition to exhibiting, our team members took turns visiting other booths, actively networking with DRR organizations and professionals from around Japan.
Experiencing such a rich diversity of local and sectoral initiatives firsthand helped us gain real insight into the current landscape of disaster preparedness. The knowledge and connections we gained will directly inform our future product development and proposal strategies.

With Gratitude—Until We Meet Again

A particularly exciting moment for our team was catching a glimpse of Her Imperial Highness Princess Aiko, who visited the venue. To everyone who stopped by our booth, shared your interest, or offered kind words—we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

We look forward to seeing you again next year, at the next BOSAI Kokutai, in another part of Japan.
