The article covers a business matching event for the Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s “GX Promotion Project for the Global South,” held in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, on May 22.
The project aims to bring outstanding GX (Green Transformation) technologies developed by Tokyo-based SMEs and startups to countries in the Global South, thereby contributing to local decarbonization efforts.The Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the City of Astana signed a memorandum of cooperation in December 2025. As an initial step toward collaboration in areas including digitalization, disaster prevention, and urban resilience, the event was held in a highly energetic atmosphere with more than 100 participants from local companies and other organizations.
At the event, Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike delivered remarks encouraging interaction with Japanese companies. Murat Karimsakov, Chairman of the Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan, also emphasized the importance of partnerships with Japanese companies.

At this high-profile event, SAKIGAKE JAPAN was selected as one of five representative Japanese companies, and CEO Kondo took the stage to deliver our presentation.The JETRO article introduced our proposed “renewable-energy-powered off-grid next-generation cold chain system.”
Kazakhstan has the ninth-largest land area in the world. Our system is designed to enable the safe storage and transportation of agricultural products and pharmaceuticals even in rural areas where infrastructure remains underdeveloped.In addition to contributing to local decarbonization and GX, the system also incorporates the perspective of disaster preparedness and urban resilience, enabling essential functions to be maintained during disasters. The technology attracted significant interest locally.
