SAKIGAKE管理人 SAKIGAKE JAPAN will participate in the “Japan-Vietnam Disaster Prevention Collaboration Dialogue 2025,” scheduled to be held on May 13, 2025, in Ha Nam Province, Vietnam. The event is co-hosted by Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) and Vietnam’s newly established Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, aiming to deepen mutual understanding and share disaster prevention policies and technologies between the two countries.
Background and Significance
In recent years, Vietnam has faced increasing risks of natural disasters such as landslides, floods, and slope failures due to rapid urbanization and climate change. To address these challenges, Japan and Vietnam have been promoting technical cooperation and institutional sharing, with this dialogue being a part of ongoing efforts. Notably, the 2025 dialogue marks the first international event under Vietnam’s new ministry structure, anticipating broader collaboration across various sectors.
Workshop Overview

- Participants: Approximately 80 from Vietnam (Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, local agencies), and about 30 from Japan (government agencies, JICA, companies)
- Theme: Technologies and Policies for Landslide Disaster Prevention
The workshop will feature presentations from policymakers, engineers, and experts from both countries, sharing the latest information on disaster prevention measures from both hardware and software perspectives.
Technical Presentation and Exhibition
SAKIGAKE JAPAN will deliver a 5-minute presentation in the “Japanese Company Presentation” segment of the workshop. The presentation will be conducted in Japanese with simultaneous interpretation in Vietnamese. It will introduce technologies aimed at mitigating interior damage in buildings and initiatives in disaster prevention education implemented in Japan.
Additionally, in the exhibition space adjacent to the venue, SAKIGAKE JAPAN will showcase the following technologies and initiatives through pamphlets and samples:
- Climate Vision / Water Vision: AI/cloud-based platforms for visualizing and predicting weather disaster risks
- DIPPS Cloud: Portable subsurface monitoring system for early detection and monitoring of landslide risks
- Aster Power Coating: Special seismic-resistant coating to reduce the risk of interior material detachment and damage due to earthquakes and vibrations
- Cold Storage Box Portable: Mobile refrigeration unit capable of maintaining cooling using solar panels even during power outages
On-site Inspection in Yen Bai Province
On Wednesday, May 14, 2025, an on-site inspection of landslide disaster-affected areas is planned near Yen Bai Province. The inspection will focus on regions experiencing slope failures and erosion, providing an opportunity for Japanese and Vietnamese stakeholders to jointly assess disaster prevention challenges. SAKIGAKE JAPAN will participate in this inspection to understand local needs and inform future technical proposals.
