SAKIGAKE JAPAN at Bosai Kokutai 2024: Revolutionizing Disaster Preparedness with Autonomous Infrastructure Solutions

On October 19th and 20th, SAKIGAKE JAPAN had the privilege of participating in Bosai Kokutai 2024, one of the largest disaster preparedness event in Japan, held this year in Kumamoto City. This was the first time the event was hosted in Kyushu, bringing together over 400 organizations from across the nation to discuss disaster prevention, recovery efforts, and regional resilience.

About Bosai Kokutai 2024

Bosai Kokutai, organized by the Cabinet Office, was first launched in 2016 following the Kumamoto Earthquake. The event serves as a platform for businesses, governments, and organizations to share knowledge and showcase their efforts in disaster preparedness. This year, the venues included Kumamoto Castle Hall, the Kumamoto International Exchange Center, and Hanabata Square, where participants could engage with panel exhibitions, presentations, and hands-on demonstrations of disaster response efforts. A special display of emergency vehicles further provided a tangible look at disaster response measures in action.

The event was kicked off by Kumamoto Prefecture Governor Takashi Kimura, who encouraged attendees to experience the “creative recovery” process underway in Kumamoto. The second day featured a talk discussion on pre-disaster recovery, led by Shinichi Takeda, host of the popular show “DayDay.”, alongside former KKT announcer Mika Murakami and disaster recovery expert Taro Ichiko, professor at Tokyo Metropolitan University. The discussion emphasized the importance of building communities resilient enough to quickly recover after a disaster strikes.

CEO Presentation: Autonomous Decentralized Infrastructure for Disaster Response

At the event, our CEO delivered a 20-minute presentation focused on Autonomous Decentralized Infrastructure Solutions and their role in strengthening disaster preparedness. This session underscored the importance of self-reliant, decentralized systems in ensuring rapid recovery and continuity during emergencies. In addition, the event provided a valuable opportunity to meet with various stakeholders in person, facilitating deeper conversations that had previously only occurred online. The scale of Bosai Kokutai proved to be an excellent environment for exchanging ideas and fostering new relationships in the disaster management sector.

Looking Forward to 2025 in Niigata

Next year, Bosai Kokutai 2025 will be held in Niigata, and we’re already looking forward to expanding our knowledge and network. This event serves as a key opportunity to continue advancing disaster preparedness strategies, and we are eager to build on the connections and insights gained at this year’s event.

As always, SAKIGAKE JAPAN remains committed to helping businesses and communities strengthen their disaster response capabilities and ensure a safer, more resilient future.

Stay tuned for more updates and learnings from our experience at Bosai Kokutai 2024!
