SAKIGAKE JAPAN Corp. Featured in the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry’s “Adaptation Good Practices Collection”

This year, SAKIGAKE JAPAN Corp. was honored to be featured in the “Adaptation Good Practices Collection” compiled by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI). This recognition highlights our efforts in promoting Japan’s cutting-edge disaster prevention technologies globally and the contributions made through the development of the Disaster Preparedness Database.

Bringing Japan’s Advanced Disaster Prevention Technologies to the World

As a country prone to natural disasters, Japan has developed highly sophisticated disaster prevention technologies and expertise. However, language barriers and differences in business practices often prevent these technologies from being effectively utilized overseas.

To address this issue, we developed the Disaster Preparedness Database, which connects Japanese companies possessing advanced technologies with the disaster prevention needs of international markets. For example, we have facilitated business negotiations involving water treatment technologies in Malaysia and conducted field research during disaster prevention exhibitions in India.

Key Features of the Disaster Preparedness Database

The Disaster Preparedness Database currently hosts over 500 Japanese companies offering disaster prevention technologies and services, and it features three primary strengths:

  1. Searchability: Technologies and companies can be searched based on disaster response needs.
  2. Comprehensiveness: A wide range of disaster prevention technologies across Japan is covered.
  3. Practicality: Provides actionable information applicable to real disaster response scenarios.

We aim to further expand this database and develop a business model that supports its use in global markets. By maximizing synergies among Japan’s technologies, we strive to contribute to disaster risk reduction through an “All-Japan” approach.
