On November 9th (Sat) and 10th (Sun), 2024, AQUAIGNIS SENDAI will host “Taibo-sai! Learning Disaster Preparedness Through Fun – For Families Across Three Generations,” combining disaster preparedness education with entertainment. SAKIGAKE JAPAN Corp. collaborates with Sendai Reborn Co., Ltd., E-Three Co., Ltd, and Tohoku Performance Network to offer this multi-generational event with fun and educational activities designed to build natural disaster awareness across all ages.

Following the successful pre-event, “Disaster Preparedness Sports Festival in Sendai,” which received a satisfaction rating above 90%, this full-scale event expands on popular activities and introduces new interactive disaster preparedness programs.

  • Tani Ladder Training: A 90-minute session focusing on improving children’s running techniques, designed by former Japan National Soccer Team physical coach Shinichiro Tani.
  • Frailty Prevention Workshop: Aimed at seniors, this session teaches proper posture and walking techniques to promote health and extend active life expectancy.
  • Disaster Preparedness Program: Families will revisit lessons from the Great East Japan Earthquake and practice disaster preparedness skills through engaging activities.
  • Emergency Supplies Showcase: Disaster preparedness professionals will present recommended emergency supplies and survival foods for families to explore and purchase.
  • Wakabayashi Minna no Marche & Street Performances: Local performers from the Tohoku region will entertain attendees with live street performances, raffles, and more.
  • Yabusame Horseback Archery Experience: Enjoy a special hands-on opportunity to experience traditional horseback archery with local facilities’ support.
  • Seal Mission Rally: Families can collect seals for each experience and exchange them for prizes, encouraging everyone to try each program.
