The Forum, supported by the full cooperation of Hyogo Prefecture, gathered over 1,500 international organizations, disaster management experts, and companies from around 150 countries to share the latest technologies and research findings.

The Global Forum on Disaster Reduction 2024 is an international event focused on understanding natural disaster risks and discussing initiatives to mitigate them. Japan, located in the Pacific Rim of Volcanoes, faces high seismic risks and increasing climate change-induced disasters. Japan’s leadership in disaster reduction is globally recognized, exemplified by the adoption of the Hyogo Framework in 2005 and the Sendai Framework in 2015, both contributing to worldwide disaster reduction efforts.
Held in June 2024 at Arcrea Himeji in Himeji, Hyogo Prefecture, the Forum precedes the 30th anniversary of the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake in 2025. The three-day event will convene hundreds of government officials, NGOs, businesses, and experts from Japan and around the world to discuss new initiatives and current challenges. Additionally, symposia and various side events are planned.

It provides a flexible and convenient solution for refrigerated and frozen storage, ideal for music events, kitchen car events, and other settings where such storage was previously difficult. It is also suitable as additional equipment for restaurant chains and as emergency refrigerators in evacuation centers.

ASTER is the first company in the world to offer integrated services from structural analysis to seismic reinforcement of masonry structures. Although masonry structures are weather-resistant and durable, they are highly vulnerable to earthquakes, which have caused about 80% of earthquake casualties in the past century due to masonry collapse. ASTER aims to significantly improve the safety of masonry construction. Their technology has gained national and international recognition, winning the Grand Prix in the third “STA★AT Pitch Japan” organized by Nihon Keizai Shimbun and featuring in an NHK World documentary.
