New Film ‘Lady Kaga’ Supports Noto Peninsula Earthquake Relief Efforts with Nationwide Release

Not “Lady Gaga”,but “Lady Kaga,” a film set in Kaga Onsen-kyo, an area devastated by the Noto Peninsula earthquake, was released on February 9, 2024 on a nationwide roadshow in Japan. The film contributes to support the affected areas by donating 5% of its distribution revenue to the Ishikawa Prefecture Relief Fund.

The director is Toshiro Saiga, a native of Fukuoka Prefecture and a high school senior of our CEO.

The story of “Lady Kaga” is inspired by “Lady Kaga,” a female PR group actually active in Kaga Onsenkyo. In the film, the young proprietresses of a ryokan (Japanese inn) enliven the hot spring resort through tap dancing.

The film was shot in Kaga and Kanazawa cities in Ishikawa Prefecture and stars Fuka Koshiba, Rei Dan, and Win Morisaki from Yangon, Myanmar.

Volunteer activities in the affected areas are still difficult, but why not contribute to the relief efforts by visiting the theater?
